The West Kelowna Warriors' season won't be ending in March.
Jackson Kyrkostas had five points, including the 1,000 for his career, and the visiting Warriors cruised past the Okotoks Oilers to clinch a BCHL postseason berth on Friday night (March 21).
Simon Houge added two goals and 脡douard Gauthier made 17 saves for West Kelowna (21-23-5-2), which currently sits as the No. 7 seed in the Interior Conference.
Tyler Grahme and Kelsen Podworny also scored for the Warriors, with Kyrkostas notching an empty-net marker late in the final frame.
Brock Souch and Kade Duell found the back of the net for the Oilers during an explosive first period where the teams combined for five goals. Okotoks is eighth in the Interior and clinging onto the conference's final playoff spot.
Oilers netminder Ben Vatis made 22 saves.
West Kelowna has three games left in its regular season before the BCHL playoffs get underway in early April.
The Central Okanagan club is back in action on Saturday, March 22, as it heads to Blackfalds, Alta. to take on the Bulldogs.
