The Vernon hockey product and his teammates with the 2024-25 Grand Forks Border Bruins will be forever remembered in the Boundary city after the franchise won its first-ever Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Teck Cup championship Sunday, April 13, in Revelstoke.
Burke and teammate Levi Astill each had three assists as the Bruins dumped the defending Cup champion Grizzlies 5-2 to sweep the best-of-seven final. Burke was named Teck Cup MVP.
He had two goals Saturday, April 12, as the Border Bruins took a 3-0 stranglehold on the final with a 5-1 romp.
Burke had 10 points in the Teck Cup Final and finished with 13 goals, 11 assists for 24 points in the KIJHL post-season. He had 11 power-play goals and four game-winners.

The Border Bruins had only been to the KIJHL championship series once in its 56-year history, and that was more than a half-century ago, in 1974, when they lost to the Cranbrook Colts.
Revelstoke was looking for its fourth league championship since 2019.
Grand Forks will now take on the Ridge Meadows Flames of Maple Ridge 香蕉视频直播 champions of the Pacific Junior Hockey League 香蕉视频直播 in the best-of-five Mowat Cup to determine the B.C. Tier 2 Junior A champions.
The Flames will host Games 1 and 2 at the George Preston Arena in Langley April 22 and 23, before the series shifts to Grand Fork the duration. Game 3 will be at the Jack Goddard Memorial Arena on April 26. If necessary, Game 4 is April 27 and Game 5 is April 29.
