Kelowna Rockets
The Kelowna Rockets will look to get back into the win column on an important night at Prospera Place.
On Friday, Feb. 21, the team welcomes the Vancouver Giants (27-21-6-0) to town before embarking on an eight-game road trip because of The Brier coming to town. Additionally, it will be a significant night as the Rockets have teamed up with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to raise mental health awareness throughout the game.
During the night there will be:
- A CMHA-run kiosk where fans can learn more about mental health;
- The CMHA Kelowna & Sunshine LeisureScapes puck toss for mental health during the second intermission;
- Pre-puck drop special mental health video;
- Public address announcements pertaining to mental health.
Part of the night is to acknowledge Talk Today, which is a mental health support system for players and raises awareness about mental health and suicide prevention throughout the WHL's communities. Each team has received specific training and has a CMHA mental health coach.
