Hockey players and spectators from across North America will begin to arrive in Penticton this week for the 2025 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Western Championships.
The Okanagan city is ready to welcome more than 5,000 visitors for the 104-team event, which runs from March 2 to 16.
"We are proud to host this event and would like to extend a warm welcome to all the competitors and spectators who are coming to our community, many of whom are travelling great distances,香蕉视频直播 Penticton Mayor Julius Bloomfield said.
Teams from across B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Idaho, and Washington will vie for gold in four different age groups: U15, U16, U17 and U18.
Games will be played within the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) complex.
This year's tournament marks the second of a 10-year agreement signed between the CSSHL and City of Penticton.
In 2024, the estimated economic impact of the event locally was estimated to have been $5.23 million.
