The Salmon Arm Silverbacks are taking their game from the ice to the green this summer with their first annual Scramble Golf Tournament.
Registration is now open for the inaugural event that will see teams of four paired up with a fifth player of a Silverbacks alumni and/or an NHL alumni, with marketing director Sabrina Byerly saying the team is "thrilled with the response we are receiving thus far."
The one-of-a-kind experience will include 18 holes at Talking Rock Golf Course in Chase, followed by a banquet dinner in Quaaout Lodge, with prizes awarded there as well.
"We're thrilled to bring some Silverbacks action into the summer with our upcoming golf tournament. Hockey and golf go hand in hand, and we're grateful to Talking Rock for hosting," business operations manager Alexandra Miege said in a media release. "This event is a great opportunity for Silverbacks fans to connect with our organization and alumni while enjoying a great day on the course."
The Silverbacks Scramble Golf Tournament will take place Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are available online through the here and on the team's Facebook page, and are $1,200 per team or $1,000 with limited time early bird pricing, and includes golf for four, cart, dinner and prizes.
