The Kelowna Rockets kept a B.C. Division crown well within their reach with an 8-1 thrashing of the Vancouver Giants Friday at Prospera Place.
Dillon Dube scored twice and added an assist and Calvin Thurkauf had three assists as the Rockets won their sixth straight game and 11th in the last 13 games.
Kelowna (42-21-5-0) remained two points back of the first-place Prince George Cougars (43-21-3-2) who defeated the Tri-City Americans 6-1 Friday in Kennewick, Wash.
The Rockets, who have four games remaining in the regular season, have a game in hand on the Cougars.
Cal Foote, James Hilsendager and Carsen Twarynski each had a goal and an assist, while Reid Gardiner, Devante Stephens and Leif Mattson also scored for the Rockets who remain unbeaten in the month of March.
Brodan Salmond stopped 20 shots in the Kelowna net for his 12th win of the season.
The Rockets will play host to the Victoria Royals Saturday in the last meeting of the regular season between the teams. Face-off at Prospera Place is 7:05 p.m.
