In a season where he became just the third coach in BCHL history to record 700 career wins, Fred Harbinson is up for his fifth Joe Tennant Memorial Trophy.

The Penticton Vees' head coach, general manager and president is a finalist to win the league's coach of the year award, along with Trail香蕉视频直播檚 Tim Fragle and Chilliwack香蕉视频直播檚 Brian Maloney.

Harbinson has won the award four times, most recently in 2022.

The longtime Vees bench boss guided the club to a BCHL-best 41-8-5-0 record in 2024-2025. It marked Penticton's 17th regular season pennant and 13th consecutive Interior Conference regular season title.

Harbinson, who began his Vees tenure ahead of the 2007-2008 campaign, won his 700th career game on Oct. 15 2024 with a 6-2 Penticton victory over the Okotoks Oilers.

He later passed legendary BCHL bench boss Kent Lewis for second on the all-time wins list (713).

As of the end of the 2024-2025 regular-season campaign, Harbinson has 734 career victories, only behind former New Westminster coach Harvey Smyl's 748 career wins.

Other Vees nominated for year-end awards include Nolan Stevenson (top defenceman) and Will Ingemann (top goaltender).

Winners will be announced between the second and third rounds of the BCHL playoffs, according to the league.

The Vees own a 2-0, second-round series lead over the Cranbrook Bucks.
