National champion Jordyn Yendley led the Okanagan Gymnastics Centre at the Canada Cup trampoline competition May 3 to 7 in Calgary.
In the first of two trials for World Age Groups and World Championships in Bulgaria, Jordyn Yendley finished first on level 6/17U Trampoline and Double Mini Trampoline.
Travis Towers finished 8th on level 5/16U Trampoline and first on Double Mini Trampoline
Taya Lawless competed in level 5/15U where she finished 23rd on trampoline and 24th on Double Mini Trampoline
Jordan Macdonald competed in level 5/15U where she finished 29th on trampoline and 22nd on Double Mini Trampoline
Andrew Martin finished in 11th in the Senior MenÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Trampoline event.
Artistic Gymnastics
OGCÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s artistic gymnasts competed at the Richmond Oval. The Delta Invitational is one of the largest competitions in the province with over 1,000 athletes competing throughout the weekend.
In Level 2 girls, competitors all earn either a gold, silver, or bronze ribbon for each event. Madison Parnell won silver on vault, bronze on bars, silver on beam, bronze on floor and silver all around. Ruby Hazard earned silver on vault, bronze on bars, silver on beam, silver on floor and silver all around. Sophia Pauluzzi earned bronze on vault, bronze on bars, bronze on beam and bronze on floor.
In the Level 3 competition, Ava Roth finished won gold on the vault with a score of 9.75. She also earned a bronze on beam and finished fourth all around out of 20 athletes.
In Level 4, Eva Solano earned a gold medal on the balance beam in the 2007 category with a 9.575. Summer Houston finished with first place on the vault, third on bars and third overall. Alexandra Kennedy finished with silver on vault, third on floor and fourth overall. Talia Westwood won a silver on balance beam with a score of 9.725 in the 2008 category.
In the level 5 category, Piper Campo finished with a bronze medal on the floor exercise in the 2007 category. Veronika Yacovelli finished with bronze medals on the uneven bars, balance beam and overall.
Natalia Simeunovic won the vault in the Aspire 1 category. Jayelle Williams finished in third on the vault.
In the Level 7 Mackenzie Carroll finished with a bronze medal on the uneven bars.
In the level 8 category, Veronica Tarasenco won the all around, earning gold medals on the uneven bars, floor exercise and overall. She also won bronze on the vault.
In the Level 8 (2001-2002) category, Grace Driver finished with a silver medal on vault and a bronze on floor and Danica Graves tied for the bronze on floor.
In the Level 9/10 category, Lucia Jakab finished third on the uneven bars.
In the menÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Level 2 competition, Hani Rehan was first on pommel horse, rings, parallel bars and high bar with an overall finish of third place. Elliot Bone won a bronze medal on the pommel horse.
In the level 3 category, Jack Nyrose finished third overall, with a first on high bars and third on vault and parallel bars.
In the level 4 category, Willis Plant finished first on pommel horse, rings, and parallel bars, second on floor and third on vault and high bar for an overall silver medal.
