Liquid Lightning competes in last meet

Twenty-three years after its inception, the Liquid Lightning Swim Club has competed in its final meet.

The LLSC will join forces next season with the Kelowna AquaJets to form one club in the Central Okanagan.

In its last ever meet as a club, a small group of LLSC swimmers placed third out of 20 teams at a competition in Moses Lake, posting 55 best times.

Ava Toyata had top points placing first in girls 13-14 dropping 17 seconds in her 200 back, Nathaniel Hees swam to top points placing 1st in 13-14 boys, while Pierson Piche and Liam Collie placed first and second, respectively, in 11-12 boys.

Maura Guidi swam to all best times, as did Jacob Piersondropped 29 seconds in his 200 free, 12 in his 100 breast, 11 in 50 fly and 9 seconds in both 200IM and 100 free.

Sydney Macfarlane swam to six best times.

Time drops were turned in by Kaitie Mcconechy who took 36 seconds off in 400 free, Ashlinn Salverda shaved 10 seconds off her 200 free, and Victoria Koehle dropped eight seconds in her 100 fly.

Other strong swims were had by Enrica Guidi, Breanna James, Annika James, Kaleigh Reese, Cameron Mcconechy, Quin and Marc Toyata.
