Kelowna Rockets defenceman Caden Price will play for Team Canada at the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championships Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥” his teammate Andrew Cristall will not.
The roster, released today (Dec. 13) by Hockey Canada, lists PriceÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s name but not CristallÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s. Cristall was named the Tempo WHL Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 24, and the WHLÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Player of the Month for November. He scored 13 goals and added 18 assists for 31 points in the month. Price, a steady presence on the blue line, has 31 points (6G-25A) in 23 games this season.
Rockets forward Jakub Stancl and defenceman Marek Rocak were named to Czechia's 27-man roster on Dec. 10.
B.C. born players that made Team Canada are defenceman Sawyer Mynio (Seattle Thunderbirds), from Kamloops, and Tanner Molendyk (Saskatoon Blades), of McBride. Three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 14 forwards were selected by head scout Al Murray and the management group including Team Canada coaches.
The 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship takes place from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 in Ottawa.
