Olivia Gran brought home a silver medal from the Canadian Tire National Figure Skating Championships held last week in Halifax.
The 12-year-old Kelowna Skating Club member placed second in the novice women's event with a score of 121.84 points.
Gran opened with a winning short program, but her total score would be just two points shy of eventual champion, Aurora Cotop, of Toronto.
Meanwhile, GranÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s training mate, Emma Bulawka, finished 14th with a score of 95.29 points.
At the junior level, Rachel Pettitt and Mckenna Colthorp finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in womenÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s singles.
Pettitt opened with a third place short program and a total points finish of 127.95 points, while Colthorp finished just behind with 127.82 points.
In the junior dance event, Haley Sales and her partner Nikolas Wamsteeker finished in fourth place overall. Their total score of 134.73 would leave them just four points shy of the podium.
This national championships is the premier figure skating event in Canada, as top skaters from across the country compete for national titles, podium berths, and international team spots.
