Good start to 2017 for Osland

KelownaÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Megan Osland kicked off her second season in golfÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s professional ranks with a positive result on the Cactus Tour.

The 23-year-old KSS and San Jose State grad finished in fourth spot at the Wildfire Golf Course in Phoenix, four strokes back of the winner.

Osland carded rounds of 71-71-72 for a finishing score of 2-under par 214,

Heading into the third round in seventh spot, Osland got off to a rough start had a rough start in windy conditions and was 4-over par after the first nine holes.

But she turned her fortunes around on the back nine with four birdies and no bogies to move up to fourth spot and $1,000 payday.

Osland said she was satisfied with her overall performance, considering it was her first tournament of the year.

Osland is now preparing for her first event of the season on the Symetra Tour, FloridaÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Natural Charity Classic, March 10 to 12 in Winter Haven, FL.

In her first season on the Symetra TourÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥”the top developmental circuit for the LPGAÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥”Osland made four of 16 cuts in 2016 and earned $3,097. Her best result was a tie for 23rd at the Tullymore Classic in July.

A member of the Kelowna Golf and Country Club, Osland won two tournaments in her senior year of NCAA golf while serving as captain of the SJSU Spartans.
