His record-breaking 14th goal came shorthanded with just one second remaining in the first period of Game 2.
And with 27 points in just 13 games, the Humboldt, Sask. native also owns the WHL playoff scoring lead.
Acquired prior to the trade deadline from the Prince Albert Raiders, Gardiner joined the Rockets from the American Hockey LeagueÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Scranton Wilkes-Barre Penguins in January.
