Matt Brodt's stellar pitching performance stood out as the lone highlight of the weekend as the Okanagan Athletics managed just a win in four tries in B.C. Premier Baseball League play against the North Delta Blue Jays.
Brodt tossed a one-hit shutout and struck out eight on Sunday morning at Elks Stadium, as the A's blanked the Jays 9-0.
Dylan Faulkner paced the offence with three RBIs, while James Fischer had a pair of runs batted in.
On Saturday, North Delta beat the Jays 7-5 in the series opener. McCoy Pearce and Brendan Coulter each had two RBI for the Athletics.
In Game 2, Pearce had two of Okanagan's five hits in a 9-2 loss.
The series finale on Sunday saw the Jays score twice in the sixth inning to overtake the A's for a 4-3 win.
The Athletics resume their homestand this weekend with a four-game series against the Langley Blaze.
The teams will meet for a pair of doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday at Elks.
