To the editor:
The deer in the Mission are wild animals. We built into their territory, planted shrubs, trees and flowers, and wonder why they like to graze in our backyards.
They are beautiful creatures who deserve life as much as anybody. Culls disturb the natural balance of wildlife, and human intervention often results in unwanted excesses of other species.
Has anyone considered the humane option?
If deer are coming into your yard, grow plants that are not attractive to them, and if necessary fence your property. Killing should not be the answer to every problem.
