The Agassiz Road neighbourhood has said right from the start, when we finally found out anyway, that we do not support a wet facility for addicts.

We have asked many times to take the wet facility out. We do not want people with drug addictions living right beside us.

Change it to a home for the working poor, low-income seniors, battered women and we would welcome and help them.

Everything we have said has fallen on deaf ears. We have to see it their way or no way.

A forum on Saturday night will not make any difference. The people that will be listened to and acknowledged do not live anywhere near the affected areas.

Same as Jan. 17 at the open council meeting. This forum is just another waste of the taxpayersÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ money.

It was said in the newspaper that what we are thinking about the people with addictions is incredibly damaging.

I encourage you to research the chaos that these supportive houses have created in Maple Ridge, Nanaimo, Victoria, Parksville, Quesnel, downtown Edmonton, CalgaryÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥¦the list goes on, and then consider again why we donÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™t want to take the chance of this happening right next door to us.

It is not helping a person with addictions when they are given free room and board, free needles and a safe room to shoot up in as many times a day as they wish.

This is just our mayor and councillors way of cleaning up Leon Avenue.
