We thank God for the many more drivers who so courteously make way for us

Letter to the editor.

To the editor:

Your May 17 editorial on National Road Safety Week May 16 to 22 sure was terrific and timely. The main Opinion Page headline, (Can You See Them?) and the continued headline on the next page, (Distracted drivers are everywhere), said it all. The editorial resonated with so many of us, like yours truly, who must use walkers for transport on city sidewalks, at traffic lights, and crossing streets, We know our limbs and lives are at stake. We canÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™t run, you know, for the many dopes behind the car and truck front windows. Still, we thank God for the many more drivers who so courteously make way for us by stopping even in mid-street, smiling, and waving us on so very graciously.
