To the editor:
Terror attacks and killings by Muslim extremists continue to rampage through Europe. Sadly, we are seeing these types of attacks and violence far more frequently here in Canada.
Much has been discussed about ISIS, Islam and Muslim radicalization. However, one topic is rarely or ever discussed, which may help us make sense of whatÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s going on. That is the wide spread practice of cousin marriage in the Middle East.
Cousin marriage is allowed and often encouraged in the Middle East and first cousin marriage is not uncommon. Cousin marriage is believed to be a defining feature of the Middle Eastern kinship system. There are many studies showing evidence of centuries of inbreeding taking place in the Middle Eastern cultures as well as countless more that clearly prove and warn of the harmful health effects of such a practice. Among the many genetic disorders associated with inbreeding, two stand out and are worth making note of as they may relate to the violence being propagated by people of Middle Eastern decent. Those are: Low IQ and propensity to aggression.
Topics such as these may be difficult and uncomfortable for many to discuss, however as a caring and welcoming society we need to have an open and honest discussion about these facts and realities. This includes in the media and especially in the main stream media, which has been very quiet on topics such as these. Likely worried of backlash and that they may be seen as being somehow raciest or anti Islam. Neither are true, they are facts and facts donÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™t care about your feelings.
