To the editor:
It is astonishing to watch the federal Liberals demonstrate, despite their pre-election and Paris climate conference promises to the contrary, their lack of real commitment to tackling climate change. Last week we read about how our Prime Minister received a standing ovation from fossil fuel interests gathered in Texas and with his approval of numerous pipelines and a 2017 budget allocation of hundreds of millions of dollars to the fossil fuel industry, it香蕉视频直播檚 no wonder.
Subsidizing the fossil fuel industry undermines actions being taken to fight climate change, including many initiatives supported in the same budget and makes the pre-election promises made by the Liberal government meaningless.
It is clear that it is possible to build a clean economy that will create long term prosperity and help us to meet our commitments to doing our part on climate change. It香蕉视频直播檚 time for us to demand that our federal government put an end to fossil fuel subsidies once and for all.
