It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved mother Nancy passed away at the age of 82 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops on November 14th after a trying battle with Alzheimer's.
Mom was born to parents Mike and Mary and grew up on the family farm north of Edmonton. Sadly, Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Don 3 months prior to her passing.
Mom was also predeceased by her parents, her brothers Joe and Nick, and her first granddaughter Angel.
Mom is survived by her sister Olga, her children Kurt & spouse Diedre, Clint, Mark & spouse Mallerlyn, and her grandchildren Keenan, Duncan, Carson, Denby, Zada and Rosie.
Mom first met Dad in Vancouver where they soon wed and went on to live a devoted life together just shy of 59 years before Dad's passing. Before meeting Dad, Mom worked for CN Rail at their Vancouver office. As transfers took place in her husband's career Mom found work with different organizations including the Ottawa Public Library and the Department of Immigration among others.
Mom was active in each community she resided in and was involved with the CWL, toastmasters, rotary, hospital pet visiting, teaching English literacy, and many other forms of community activity and service. Mom enjoyed quilting and sewing and her fine work adorns our homes. The summer time family camping trips bring back many fond memories with evening game time providing Mom the opportunity to let her card playing skills shine through.
We love you very much Mom and know you're in a better place rejoined with Dad.
