In loving memory ~
It is with broken hearts that we say goodbye to our Johnny. John Ellis died peacefully in his sleep. He was predeceased by his father, Roy Sr. John was a loving husband to Joan; father to Jonathan (Arleth) and Anissa; stepfather to Justin and Chrystelle; proud "Papa" to Jaedyn, Charleigh, Autumn, Valeria, Sebastian, Calleigh, and Justin Junior. John was the eldest of six siblings Gary (decd.), Roy Jr. (Vicky), Marilyn (Jim), Keven (Wendy), Don (Eva); and he was uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Hamilton, ON, where (as a young man), John was an accomplished hockey player with aspirations of playing for the Boston Bruins. He worked at the Ford Motor Company before venturing out, buying a dump truck, and starting Ellis Haulage. He relocated to BC, settling in Kelowna, where he raised his family. Many years later, John returned to his home town and created a successful roofing company with his brother, Gary. A few weeks prior to leaving BC and while enjoying his passion for golf, he met the love of his life, his "Sweetie", Joan. They maintained a long-distance romance for many years, until John sold his business, returned to BC, and married Joan. John loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the North Wall Riders Association, Steel City, along with his brothers Roy and Keven. John and Roy shared a special brotherhood and travelled extensively throughout North America on their motorcycles. John also rode with the Canadian Army Veterans (CAV) as a supporter. Along with his son Jonathan and brother Keven, John was a soldier of Christ in the Knights Templar.
