Passed away peacefully following a battle with congestive heart failure at Okanagan hospice on Monday Feb 8, 2021. He is survived by his loving family, Wife Betty, daughter Lana (Greg), sisters Joy and Dolly (Norman). Brothers Vic, Arlo (Sharlotte) and Irv (Lynda), sister in-laws Louise (Richard) and Connie (Bruce) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his son Aron, parents Foster and Birdie, sister Ila, his mother in-law Mildred and his brother in-law Morris.
Chet was born Aug 7, 1931 in Camden Core County of Kent in Ontario. His family moved to Langley BC in 1933, In his teens he worked as a ranch hand, later in life he was a heavy-duty machine operator, he could run any machine, but his machine of choice was the grader. He met his wife Betty in Princeton, BC in 1975. At the time he was working for Finning, where he taught people how to operate their machinery. Betty and Chet moved to Surrey BC in 1976 and stayed there until the summer of 1977. He quit Finning when they moved to Kelowna, BC. Chet ran the grader for 29 years building many roads throughout BC and Canada. Chet retired at the age of 75. During retirement he loved travelling especially going south for the winter.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Segers and Jacquie and the nurses and staff of the Kelowna Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House.
