In loving memory ~
Barbara-Ann Lindsay passed away peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital on October 30th, 2022. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and those who loved her dearly.
She was born on March 30th, 1938 in the tiny island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. She lived there for 32 years, before moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1970, with her husband Donald and five young children. In 2002, Barbara-Ann and Don retired to Kelowna, British Columbia, where they enjoyed many happy days sailing on Okanagan Lake and marvelling in the awe inspiring beauty of the Okanagan.
She was famous for her kindness and humour and would go out of her way to help anyone in need (if they wanted the help or not). She was also the life of the party, and delighted in playing funny calypso tunes on the ukulele and singing well into the early morning hours. She was the keeper of the secret family recipes, the guardian of traditions and the glue that held her family together for many years.
She is predeceased my her sons, Charlie, Bruce and daughter Karen, and her beloved husband, Donald. She is survived by her two sisters, Betty and Carrol, her children Donald, Kathy (Dana) and Robert, grandchildren, Erika, Megan, Matthew, Ryan, Aurora and Amanda, and great grandchildren, Cohen, Bryson, Myla, Maverick, Victoria and Zoria.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and support staff of Kelowna General Hospital. Thank-you is not enough.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, A small, private, celebration of life will be held November 12, 2022.
