Wildfire near Princeton holds steady at 1,789 hectares

There has been no growth on the Calcite Creek wildfire, 41 kilometres south of Princeton, for several days, however, the blaze continues to burn out of control.

The blaze remains at 1,789 hectares and is believed to be lightning-caused. 

On July 31, BC Wildfire had 50 personnel and 20 structure protection personnel working on the blaze. 

Crews will continue to mop up on the north flank of the fire, with the support of heavy equipment. Heavy equipment will continue to support firefighter personnel with building machine guards in the Calcite Creek area of the blaze. 

From there, crews will wrap a guard along the northwest corner of the fire and tie that into the preexisting guard along the west flank, stated BC Wildfire. 

Five helicopters will be supporting ground personnel throughout the day.

Anis still in place by the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) for the Eastgate, Psayten, and Placer areas (Electoral Area 香蕉视频直播淗香蕉视频直播) along B.C. Highway 3, due to the Calcite Creek wildfire. Anyone in the evacuation alert area should be ready to leave on short notice.
