The 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge will be remembered in Kelowna Sunday with a parade through the city香蕉视频直播檚 downtown core.

On April 9, the parade will start on at 1 p.m. at the Armoury on Richter Avenue and travel down Lawrence Avenue to the cenotaph at Veendam Gardens in City Park to mark the centennial of the historic First World War battle in France that involved Canadian soldiers.

The city says a rolling road closure will be in place along Lawrence Avenue between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to accommodate the parade.

Following a short ceremony at Veendam Gardens, the parade will then travel back to the Armory at 2 p.m. via Bernard Avenue, with another rolling lane closure in effect in the eastbound lane for the return journey.

Motorists are advised to keep an eye out for increased pedestrian traffic in the area on the day. The RCMP will be on site directing traffic for the rolling road closures. No parking restrictions will be in place.
