Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is apologizing on behalf of the federal government for perpetrating decades of discrimination against members of the LGBTQ community.

Dozens of people 香蕉视频直播 including two of Trudeau香蕉视频直播檚 own kids, Xavier and Ella-Grace 香蕉视频直播 were crammed into the various House of Commons galleries, many of them sporting rainbow ribbons, to witness the historic occasion, which the prime minister says he hopes will finally allow the healing process to begin for those affected.

香蕉视频直播淭his is the devastating story of people who were branded criminals by the government 香蕉视频直播 people who lost their livelihoods, and in some cases, their lives,香蕉视频直播 Trudeau says in prepared remarks.

香蕉视频直播淭hese aren香蕉视频直播檛 distant practices of governments long forgotten. This happened systematically, in Canada, with a timeline more recent than any of us would like to admit.香蕉视频直播

Premier John Horgan 香蕉视频直播榳elcomes香蕉视频直播 federal apology

Since Trudeau香蕉视频直播檚 speech in the House of Commons, Premier John Horgan has issued a statement welcoming the apology.

香蕉视频直播淲ords cannot reverse Canada香蕉视频直播檚 shameful treatment of LGBTQ2S+ people. But they can help heal the wounds left behind by the harmful laws and policies of the past,香蕉视频直播 he said.

香蕉视频直播淲hile Canada has been making strides since the 1960s to offer LGBTQ2S+ people full and equal protection in the law, more must be done to make sure everyone is free and unafraid to be who they are.香蕉视频直播
