A Salmon Arm woman's threats to "smash" a neighbour's face in resulted in her arrest and a future court date. 

At 7 p.m. on March 9, an officer responded to a residence at 11th Street SE where a complainant reported that a female neighbour was yelling continuously and threatening to "smash his face in." The woman in question was known to the RCMP, with a number of similar files pertaining to her. 

"Police attended and spoke with the woman who then began screaming, swearing and denying anything happened to the officer," Const. Andrew Hodges said in a media release, adding that she slammed her door in the officer's face while he was trying to de-escalate the situation. 

"The officer then walked over to the neighbour to follow up, when the woman exited her residence and began yelling at the top of her lungs and making further threats."

The officer warned her to go home, but she "continued her tirade" and was arrested for causing a disturbance and uttering threats.

The woman was later released on conditions with a future court date to speak to the allegations, with charges forwarded to BC Prosecution for assessment.
