Standoff in Penticton ends without incident

Domestic incident believed to involve the discharge of a firearm

Penticton RCMP are currently waiting for a search warrant in connection with a domestic incident believed to involve the discharge of a firearm at a residence on Carmi Avenue.

Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said the matter happened just after midnight Thursday at a house in the 1300 block of Carmi.

A woman reportedly fled the scene and contacted police to let them know she was not hurt.

The police Emergency Response Team was called in and cordoned off the area surrounding the property.

The suspect is expected to be in court either later Thursday or Friday after police execute the search warrant.
