A stand off in Oliver has brought out a large police presence including the RCMP Emergency Response Team on Sunday, Feb. 11.
The stand off started in the late afternoon on Co-Op Avenue which continues to be blocked off by police around 6:30 p.m.
Many people took to social media to ask why at least nine police vehicles were seen with sirens on heading south through Peachland, Summerland and Penticton on Highway 97 around 5:10 p.m..
What prompted the large police response isnÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™t known at this time.

A property on Martin Street in Penticton was the focus of a heavy police response last Wednesday morning in Penticton.
There were 11 police vehicles, including unmarked vehicles, that responded to the scene.
Police later confirmed that the response was caused by a reported firearm.
A man was found and while being taken into custody, a BB-gun was seized from his possession according to RCMP.
The 35-year-old Penticton resident was found to have outstanding warrants and has been detained in custody.
