However, by Monday afternoon, the haze that has blanketed the region for weeks has returned.

Environment Canada issued a special air quality statement for the South, Central and North Okanagan at 1 p.m. Those in the area should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions.

However the Air Quality Health Index is still only att a two out of 10 for both the South and Central Okanagan and at a three for the North.

In Kamloops the Air Quality Health Index is sitting at a nine out of 10 Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥” 10 being a very high health risk.

Temperatures in the Okanagan are expected to climb after a cold front moved into the area over the weekend. Light smoke is anticipated to linger for the rest of the week as temperatures climb into the mid 20s C.
