Sicamous police were called to a local motel after a guest took the Hotel California lyrics quite literally.
On March 25, the RCMP responded to a report from motel after staff noted a room that had been vacated by the last guest was currently occupied with the room locked from the inside. An officer attended and noted the door chain had been latched from the inside.
"Police gained access to the room and found the last registered guest who had checked out that morning hiding in the bathroom of the unit," Sgt. Murray McNeil said in a media release.
The man was arrested for trespassing and removed from the motel but was released without charges.
