A semi driver was ticketed and another driver sent to hospital following a head-on collision on Highway 1.
The highway was temporarily closed around noon on Thursday, March 9, while police, Revelstoke Fire Rescue Service (RFRS) members, BC Ambulance Service paramedics, Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure personnel, tow companies and EMCON flaggers tended to the scene of a two-vehicle collision.
Revelstoke RCMP Staff Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky reports an eastbound black Nissan Titan pickup truck collided head on with a westbound commercial tractor-trailer unit while passing just west of the access to Mount Revelstoke National Park.
香蕉视频直播淭his westbound vehicle driver was issued a provincial violation ticket for fail to keep right, as their truck was found to be six to eight feet into the on-coming passing lane,香蕉视频直播 said Grabinsky.
RFRS had to extricate an injured man from the pickup truck. He was then transported to hospital in Revelstoke.
Grabinsky said the semi driver 香蕉视频直播渁lso suffered non-life threatening injuries香蕉视频直播 in the collision.
The accident occurred on a two-lane section of the Trans-Canada Highway, said Grabinsky, resulting in the temporary highway closure to allow first responders to do their work.
香蕉视频直播淥nce the injured parties are removed, the trucks will be towed, the debris cleaned up and the road assessed,香蕉视频直播 said Grabinsky.
