With a new detachment commander coming in, the trustees are considering renewing a request the RCMP assign a dedicated school liaison office to the school district. In a previous request from June of last year, board chair Linda Van Alphen noted an officer was assigned to the district in the 1990s, and that in the Central Okanagan School District, there are four school liaison officers.
The agenda also includes three readings of an amended 2016-17 budget in the amount of $65,112,237.
The final version of the SD67 strategic plan is also on the table, with recommendations to adopt the plan, and to start an RFP process for a technology audit, with a maximum $100,000 budget. Other year one priorities included in the strategy include revisiting the districtÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s mission statements, developing a communication plan, health and wellness and a review of the districtÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s transportation system.
