A fight between two men on Feb. 1 in the middle of Main Street in Penticton ended with one man taken to the hospital and one in custody. 

RCMP responded to the 1700 block of Main Street on Feb. 1 just before 10 a.m. for reports of an altercation between two men. 

One individual was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. 

A search of the area by multiple officers located a 28-year-old man who has been arrested in relation with the incident and is being currently kept in custody ahead of his next court appearance.  

The man has been charged with aggravated assault. 

According to a press release, the RCMP have determined that this was a targeted incident, and there is no threat to public safety at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the altercation or that has dash cam footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and reference file number 2025-1483.
