Penticton business event raises $10,500 for local charities

Local artists, food, wine and breweries got together for the one day fundraiser in September

Penticton organizers of a last minute fire relief fundraiser held in September are calling it a big success after $10,500 raised in the one day event.

The funds were split between Mamas for Mamas Kelowna branch, South Okanagan Food Bank, and ALERT Canada.

Hayley Mullen, of Arcadia Modern Home who put together the event was thrilled with the turnout and the amount raised.

She said Penticton businesses, artists, musicians, wineries and breweries were happy to come together to organize the fundraiser held on Sunday, Sept. 17, in a new event space at 124 Estabrook Avenue.

Local musicians Will Schlackl, Ari Neufeld and Broke Down Trucks weree performing while Wayne and Freda, breweries, wineries and restaurants provided the drinks and food.

There were local jewelry, home decor and art vendors there too as well as clothing stores including downtown香蕉视频直播檚 Ad Hoc and Slow Current.
