The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP advises drivers to clear snow from windshields before driving or face a fine.

With a recent dump of snow in the Vernon area and more snow in the forecast, the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is reminding drivers of the need to clear their windshields before getting behind the wheel.

The Vernon RCMP took to social media to remind people that failing to clear snow from a windshield of vehicle window can lead to an $81 fine.

"Please take the time to completely clear your windows of ice, snow, fog, and condensation before heading out on the road," the RCMP said.

The City of Vernon urged drivers to slow down Tuesday amid snowy driving conditions, and those conditions are likely to persist, as Environment Canada is calling for a 40 per cent chance of flurries of snow Thursday, Dec. 19.
