The B.C. Assembly of First Nations condemned the BC Prosecution Service香蕉视频直播檚 decision to not pursue charges against three RCMP officers responsible for the killing of a First Nations man in Campbell River on July 8, 2021.

香蕉视频直播淭he First Nations Leadership Council (FNLC) is shocked and angered to learn that the BC Prosecution Service will not be pursuing charges on three RCMP officers responsible for the killing of Jared Lowndes, a member of the Wet香蕉视频直播檚uwet香蕉视频直播檈n First Nation, in Campbell River on July 8, 2021,香蕉视频直播� a statement issued by the BCAFN says. 香蕉视频直播淚n 2022, the Independent Investigations Office recommended charges against the three officers involved, stating 香蕉视频直播榬easonable grounds exist to believe that three officers may have committed offences in relation to various uses of force.香蕉视频直播櫹憬妒悠抵辈��

Lowndes died the morning of July 8, 2021 in the parking lot of the Willow Point Tim Hortons in Campbell River after police officers opened fire. During the incident, a police dog was also killed, and the dog香蕉视频直播檚 handler was injured.

The Independent Investigations Office forwarded the file to Crown counsel in October of 2023, recommending the consideration of charges against the trio of officers involved who have not been identified publicly.

The BC Prosecution Service released its decision Tuesday, April 23, concluding that the evidence available did not meet their charge assessment standard.

香蕉视频直播淭he BCPS is not able to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the officers committed any offence in relation to the incident. As a result, no charges have been approved,香蕉视频直播� a statement from BCPS says.
