Greater Vernon residents finally have an outdoor pool to cool off in.
The gates come down around the long-awaited new Lakeview Wading Pool Friday, June 28.
The free facility has been two years in the making, running over budget.
Residents can enjoy the new pool seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a 1:30 to 2 p.m. closure for cleaning.
An official grand opening and community celebration event for the new Lakeview Wading Pool will take place on Thursday, July 11.
Those visiting Lakeview Park are advised a portion of 32nd Avenue is closed for road construction.
Lavington Outdoor Pool is also opening for the summer season this week.
It is also open seven days a week, Monday to Thursday from 12 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m.
Swim lessons take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m.
The Lavington pool is open Friday to Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
Hours of operation are subject to change based on staffing availability. Space is limited and available on first come first serve basis.
Children under the age of six must be accompanied by an adult.
Proper swimwear is required.
Children who are not toilet trained must wear an approved swim diaper.
