Motorcycle rider injured in West Kelowna crash

Only one person was injured in a crash that closed eastbound lanes of Highway 97 for several hours Monday evening, April 15.

West Kelowna RCMP confirmed a red Kawasaki street bike was headed north on the highway when it hit the back of a Jeep Cherokee. Witnesses described the motorcycle rider as displaying dangerous driving behaviours.

The rider was the only person injured in the collision. The individual was stabilized on scene before being taken to Kelowna General Hospital.

RCMP is investigating a single motorcycle rider for dangerous operation of a conveyance.

Anyone with dash camera footage from the 1800 block of Highway 97 on April 15 around 5:45 p.m. or anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call West Kelowna RCMP and reference file 2024-19695.
