A prescribed burn covering up to seven hectares could cause some smoke in the region.
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) and Vernon Fire Rescue Services will be burning in the Longacre Drive and Apollo Road area.
"Smoke may be visible within the City of Vernon and surrounding areas," BCWS advises.
The burn is anticipated to start Tuesday, March 18, but will depend on weather and conditions.
"Burning will proceed if conditions are suitable and allow for smoke dispersal during burn operations, though smoke may also linger in the following days."
The goal of the burn is to reduce wildfire risk and will also provide cross training between BCWS and Vernon firefighters.
