The man behind a Kelowna machete attack has been released from his second stint in prison in two months.
Derrick Antoine, 30, was sentenced earlier this week to 44 days in jail for breaching the terms of his probation. He香蕉视频直播檇 been in custody since being caught in mid-May, and for that was credited time served. He was was told to pay a victim surcharge of $100.
Antoine had only been free from incarceration for one month when he broke the conditions of his release.
In March he sentenced to 10-months , as per the joint recommendation of Crown counsel and his defence attorney for charges relating to a series of increasingly violent outbursts in 2016 that culminated in a machete attack.
At the centre of the violence was a strained relationship with the mother of his child, who was the victim of one of the attacks he went to jail for.
He was told he could not make contact with her or the victim of the machete attack and that he is not permitted within the boundaries of Kelowna unless it香蕉视频直播檚 to pick up or drop off his child for visitation elsewhere.
In some circumstances a supervised visit within city boundaries may be accepted.
That sentence was 香蕉视频直播渙n the edge of what香蕉视频直播檚 acceptable to the court,香蕉视频直播 said Judge Mayland McKimm at the time, noting he would have preferred a sentence of 12 to 18 months given the severity of the attacks levied by Antoine.
