The Lower Similkameen Indian Band has released an album on Spotify showcasing the sounds of sm蓹lqm铆x.

The Lower Similkameen Indian Band (LSIB) released an album last week.

In collaboration with Tree Canada and Little Symphony, LSIB Natural Resources Department and Parks Works Group released n蕯aysnu虛la蕯x史 nx史蓹lx史蓹lta虛nt蓹t (Ashnola Gives Us Life) on Friday, March 21. The five-track album captures the sounds of the tmx史ulax史 (lands), tmix史 (all living things), sqilx史 (people), siw涩k史 (water) and post wildfire.

"This ambient album is a project to help spread awareness of the resiliency of our sm蓹lqm铆x people," LSIB stated. "The dedication to restoring our lands back to health after wildfire and other factors that threatened the unique biodiverse ecosystems with our sm蓹lqm铆x territory."

The album can also be used for autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), which promotes relaxation and mental health, and will help generate funds that will go towards further management and protection of the tmx史ulax史 and tmix史 within the Ashnola sm蓹lqm铆x Protected Area.

"The LSIB NR Department, Parks Working Group, and the sqilx史 (people) of LSIB hope you enjoy listening to the sounds of sm蓹lqm铆x," LSIB stated.
