Weather for tonight is expected to see a low of 5 C, which is a little warmer than the sub-zero frost conditions that descended on the Central Okanagan Tuesday night.

Outlook for weather is rain, rain and more rain until possibly Sunday, with highs of 13C and lows of 6C.

Making news locally on our website today included a casting call going sent out for extras to be in a feature film entitled Beautiful Voice, shooting from Oct. 24 to Dec. 2 in Kamloops.

The casting call is scheduled for the Holiday Inn Conference Centre, 2429 Highway 97 North from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.  Producers say they are looking for people of all ages with a "Middle Eastern or Mediterranean" look. East Indians, Hispanics, Africans, Aboriginals and people of mixed ethnicities are also being sought.

Vandals continue to plague a West Kelowna restaurant on fire, the Thai Fusion located at 3041 Louie Dr.

Police and West Kelowna Fire Rescue are investigating this latest incident which this time saw the business broken into and its sprinklers expelling water as the interior fire suppression system had been triggered.

Around the province, a man wanted in connection with a murder in Saskatchewan and a police shooting that left an officer with hand and arm injuries near Golden was found deal near Revelstoke this morning, the RCMP report.

Sheldon Kyle Thunderblanket was found dead east if Revelstoke following an overnight manhunt that began near Golden Tuesday afternoon.

On the national scene, New Democrats are putting pressure on the Trudeau government to adopt a proportional voting system in time for the next election.

NDP democratic reform critic Nathan Cullen says the party has undertaken an "unprecedented" cross-country consultation with more than 37,000 Canadians and has found overwhelming support for a proportional system.

An issue that could have repercussions for B.C.'s forest industry, hefty U.S. duties could be slapped on Canadian timber exports to the United States by early 2017 after a one-year standstill expired on Wednesday in the long-running softwood dispute between Canada and its biggest trading partner.

Locals might remember the recent Council of Forest Industries convention here in Kelowna when the heads of some of the biggest forest industry companies were talking tough about not bowing to pressure from U.S. lumber producers to accept a tariff on Canadian lumber exports south of the border.

It looks like the Americans are ready to call their bluff unless a deal, which has been in negotiations with no success for the past 12 months, can get done.
