A Kelowna woman smashed the field and won the Shuswap Ultramarathon outright, beating the second place person, a man from Vernon, by ten minutes.

All-around mountain athlete Michelle Reddy broke the course record and crushed the 60km running race on Saturday June 24.

Reddy trains by back-country skiing, mountain biking and running with her pup Gunner.

In addition to winning bragging rights over her sister, who was also running the ultramarathon, Reddy won entry and travel to compete in a three day mountain stage race in the Andes mountains.

Tristan Hoekstra was the first place man and second overall in the 60km race.

In the 120 km race, Ailsa MacDonald was the first female finisher and was second place overall to, winner Ihor Verys.
