Kelowna house fire sends two to hospital

The fire on Springfield Road caused extensive internal damage

A Kelowna couple was rushed to hospital with smoke inhalation after an early morning house fire.

At 7:22 a.m. on Saturday, the Kelowna Fire Dept. received a 911 call reporting a fire inside a home on the 2600 block of Springfield Road.

香蕉视频直播淯pon arrival the first unit reported light smoke coming from the eaves of a one-story residence,香蕉视频直播 said Platoon Captain Tim Light.

香蕉视频直播淔irefighters extinguished the fire in the residence quickly, however damage to the home is extensive and the residents will not be able to return until restoration is done.香蕉视频直播

Light said two of the occupants were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation injuries and minor burn injuries.

The two children that also live in the home were fortunately visiting their grandparents in Joe Rich at the time of the blaze.

Emergency Support Services was called in to offer assistance to all the occupants going forward.

Light tells 香蕉视频直播 that the resident's two dogs and two cats also got out of the home OK and are doing fine.

The blaze started inside the home and Light says it has caused significant internal damage.

香蕉视频直播淭he fire will be investigated on Monday as to the cause, however the fire department does not feel that it is suspicious in nature,香蕉视频直播 added Light.

The Kelowna Fire Department urges the public to make sure you have a working smoke detector in your home as early detection saves lives.
