1. An Alberta man received a hefty fine last Saturday for lighting a campfire on Dilworth Mountain.

On July 22 at 9:37 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP were contacted by the Kelowna Fire Department with a request for assistance as fire crews responded to a report of flames visible in the forested area below homes on Dilworth Mountain.

2. The Okanagan Rail Trail .

The Rail Trail Interjurisdictional Development Team unveiled a one-kilometre test section of the trail Saturday that has been developed over the past two weeks by Sureway Construction.

The trail has been widened with a smoother surface added in the section between McCarthy Road and Lodge Road in Lake Country.

3. One Kelowna senior was able to find shelter after his home burnt down during a fire on Truswell Road.

Michael Sieux thought his life would only get worse when his home burned to a cinder and he was left without an address.

He was wrong.
