UPDATE 1:45 p.m.:
One man was taken into custody after a standoff with police that lasted more than three hours in Penticton.
The man walked out of the home and surrendered himself to the police.
Members of the Southeast District RCMP's Emergency Response Team are currently entering the home on Killarney Street.
It is not currently known what started the standoff, which according to neighbours began around 10 a.m.
The 1300-block of Killarney Street and nearby Edgewood Street remain blocked off by BC Highway Patrol vehicles.
Traffic is being directed down Municipal Street instead.

A heavy police presence has closed off Killarney Street in Penticton around 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3
Residents on social media posted the address of the alleged house involved, however, that has not been confirmed at this time.
The incident is taking place in the 1300-block of Killarney Street.
According to Western News reporter Logan Lockhart, police are ordering an individual inside the home to come out through the front door.
Additional police vehicles were spotted heading towards Penticton from Kelowna around 12:30 p.m.
However, according to witnesses police have been at the home since 10 a.m.
Smoke grenades have been deployed causing police to push the public back from the area and also closing down Edgewood Street.
