Getting colourful with the neighbours

Kelowna's Lake Avenue neighbourhood to gather at Lake Avenue Beach Access to plant shrubs and add colour to some trees on Saturday.

A group of neighbours from the Lake Avenue Beach Access look to enhance their neighbourhood through a planting and painting project on Saturday.

With support from a neighbourhood grant, residents in the Lake Avenue neighbourhood will gather at Lake Avenue Beach Access from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday to plant native shrubs and add some colour to five trees in the area.

The neighbourhood group conducted extensive research and worked carefully with a number of City departments to ensure that a non-toxic and environmentally safe paint was selected for the project and that native plants were selected to be planted in appropriate areas.
