Members of the Kelowna Fire Department extinguished a garage fire Saturday evening in the Mission area of Kelowna.

Grey smoke was reported to be coming from a property on the 4800 block of Dillon Place at about 8:45 p.m.

The first arriving officer reported smoke coming from the garage and roof area above it. The crew forced entry into the garage to discover a large fire involving the contents of the garage and the fire was extinguished soon after. The fire was extinguished quickly.

The fire and damage were contained to the garage with only some minor smoke migration into the home.

No one was home at the time.

The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature.

Kelowna Fire Dept. responded with three engines, a rescue and command vehicle with a total of 15 personnel.
