A wildfire discovered just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, west of Cache Creek off the side of the Trans-Canada Highway is burning out-of-control.
The blaze is an estimated .5 hectares in size and located in the Battle Creek area.
BC Wildfire is on the scene.
Highway 1 is reduced to a single alternating between Collins Rd and Back Valley Rd for 2.2 km due to the blaze. Traffic is backed up in the area.
According to social media, fire crews are working the blaze right on the side of the highway where there are large patches of black grass.
Outside of Ashcroft, near Spences Bridge.
Both fires are considered out of control, under 300 hectares and located between 5.5 and 7.5 kilometres away from Spences Bridge.
